All-on-6 in Türkiye if you are insured with the NFZ

Poland’s public health fund pays for removable dentures, not implants. For most Polish patients, fixed teeth on implants are a private purchase wherever they are made, which makes careful comparison worth the effort.

In brief

The Polish National Health Fund (NFZ) does not fund dental implants in standard cases, even when there is a medical reason. It does fund removable full and partial dentures and, since June 2025, a denture item described as overdenture-type, once every five years. A fixed bridge on implants such as All-on-6 is therefore private in Poland and in Türkiye alike.

This guide has a Polish edition, and many of its Polish readers ask whether anything at all is funded when you replace a full set of teeth with implants. The answer is that Poland’s public system pays for removable dentures but not for implants. That makes full-arch implant treatment a private purchase in Poland and abroad alike, and it is why comparing prices, materials and aftercare properly is worth the time. The rules below are described as Polish health sources set them out in October 2026; check the current NFZ catalogue for any later change.

What the NFZ funds, and what it does not

Patient guidance from Polish medical publishers is consistent: implants are a private treatment, and the National Health Fund (Narodowy Fundusz Zdrowia, NFZ) does not fund their placement in standard conditions, even where there is a medical indication. What the NFZ does fund for adults is removable prosthetics: full and partial removable dentures, at intervals set out in its rules. Waiting times for funded dentures have been criticised as long.

In 2025 a new item was added. An order of the NFZ President dated 30 May 2025 introduced funding for a denture described as “overdenture-type”, for the upper or lower jaw, available once every five years, with an exception for people after surgical removal of tumours in the facial skeleton. The name can mislead. As a senior figure in Poland’s Supreme Medical Council explained publicly, it is a conventional denture under which tooth roots may be kept, not a denture fastened with clips onto implants. It does not offer the stability of an implant-supported overdenture, still less of a fixed bridge.

There is also a route for people who lost teeth in an accident: an individual application to the director of the regional NFZ branch, with documentation from a dentist. It is not a general entitlement, and the outcome depends on the case.

Where this leaves All-on-6

All-on-6 is a fixed bridge of teeth on six implants per jaw. In Poland, as in Türkiye, it is paid privately. The NFZ will not contribute towards it at home, and planned treatment outside the European Union is in any case outside the European rules on cross-border care. The European Health Insurance Card is not valid in Türkiye and never covers travel for the purpose of treatment; see why the EHIC does not cover Türkiye.

So the question is not whether to give up a funded option, but which private option offers the best combination of planning, materials, price and aftercare for you.

Comparing private options fairly

Poland has many capable implant clinics, and some Polish readers will rightly ask why they would travel at all. The answer is personal, and price is only part of it. Whatever you decide, compare like with like:

  • Implants: how many per jaw, which brand and system, and whether that brand is easy to service in Poland.
  • The final bridge: material (for example zirconia on a titanium bar, or acrylic), and how many teeth.
  • Temporary teeth: whether fixed temporary teeth are included after surgery, and for how long you wear them.
  • Extractions and grafting: included or extra.
  • Imaging: whether a 3D CBCT scan is part of the planning.
  • Guarantees: what is guaranteed, for how long, and what you must do to keep the guarantee.
  • Travel: for treatment abroad, flights, hotel and the time away from work and family.

Precious Dental publishes one price for All-on-6 on both jaws: £6,500, including implants, zirconia teeth on a titanium bar, temporary teeth, extractions, X-rays, medication, hotel nights on both trips and transfers. Flights are not included. The cost chapter, available in Polish, explains the items that most often make quotes differ.

Who All-on-6 suits

Because the NFZ funds removable dentures, many Polish readers already wear one and are considering implants because it moves, rubs or limits what they can eat. That is a common reason for full-arch implants. It is not suitable for everyone: the bone in the jaw, general health, smoking and certain medicines all affect the plan. Our chapter on who All-on-6 is for explains the usual considerations, and an assessment of your X-ray is the only way to know.

Travelling from Poland

Polish citizens can visit Türkiye for tourism without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period, according to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Check your passport’s validity before booking; our article on entry documents explains the rules.

The treatment usually takes two trips. First, the implants are placed and fixed temporary teeth fitted; Precious Dental includes 4 hotel nights for this trip. After a healing period of some months at home, the second trip is for the final bridge, with 5 hotel nights included. Between the two, the implants bond with the bone while you wear the temporary teeth.

Records and aftercare in Poland

To get an opinion from a clinic abroad, you will need a recent panoramic X-ray. If your Polish dentist already has one, you have the right to a copy; under European data protection law the first copy of your records should be free. See your dental records under GDPR.

After treatment, a dentist in Poland will usually do your check-ups and cleaning. Ask before you travel whether your dentist will look after implant work done elsewhere, and bring home the implant passport, X-rays and scans and a description of the bridge. Precious Dental uses MegaGen, Neodent or Straumann implants, which are distributed in Poland. Our article on aftercare with your home dentist has a checklist.

From a removable denture to fixed teeth

Many Polish readers have worn an NFZ-funded removable denture for years. Moving from a denture to implants is a common path, and it raises practical questions:

  • Bone. After years without teeth, the jaw bone shrinks. A CBCT scan shows whether there is enough for six implants without grafting, and where.
  • Remaining teeth. If you still have some teeth in the jaw, the dentist will advise which can be kept and which should be removed. All-on-6 replaces the whole arch.
  • Getting used to it. Fixed teeth feel different from a denture: no plate covering the palate, no adhesive, more natural chewing. Most people adapt quickly, but speech and biting take a little practice at first.
  • The old denture. Keep it until the final bridge is fitted; it can be useful in an unexpected situation.

Tax relief in Poland

Poland’s income tax rules include a rehabilitation relief (ulga rehabilitacyjna) for people with a recognised disability, which can cover some health-related expenses. It does not apply to everyone, and dental treatment for people without a disability certificate is generally not deductible. If you hold a disability certificate, ask a tax adviser whether any part of your treatment could qualify, and keep invoices and proof of payment.

A simple comparison table

When you collect quotes, a table with one column per clinic makes differences visible. Rows to include:

  1. number of implants per jaw and brand;
  2. final bridge material and number of teeth;
  3. temporary teeth: fixed or removable, included or not;
  4. extractions, grafting and sinus lift: included or price per item;
  5. CBCT scan;
  6. number of visits and total days away;
  7. guarantee periods and conditions;
  8. hotel and transfers;
  9. flights (for clinics abroad);
  10. total.

The Polish edition of our cost chapter has more detail on each row.

In short

  • The NFZ does not fund implants in standard cases; it funds removable dentures.
  • The 2025 overdenture-type item is a conventional denture, not one fixed to implants.
  • All-on-6 is private in Poland and in Türkiye, so compare full private quotes item by item.
  • Plan two trips, check your passport, and bring complete records home.

Questions readers ask

Does the NFZ pay for implants?

Not in standard cases. Implants are a private treatment in Poland, even with a medical indication. Removable dentures are funded.

What is the NFZ overdenture item from 2025?

An order of the NFZ President of 30 May 2025 added a funded denture item described as overdenture-type, available once every five years. Commentators note that it is a conventional denture over retained roots, not a denture clipped onto implants.

Can the NFZ refund treatment in Türkiye?

Planned treatment outside the EU is outside the European rules on cross-border care, and the NFZ does not fund implants at home either. Expect to pay privately.

Do I need a visa for Türkiye?

Polish citizens can visit Türkiye for tourism without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period, according to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Is the guide available in Polish?

Yes. The chapters, our recommendation page and the policy pages of this guide are available in Polish at /pl/.
